Smart Development

I have supported responsible development with full accountability and transparency by opposing any further warehouse development and encouraging my colleagues to do the same. I am unfortunately the only sitting council member to never vote in favor of a warehouse, because frankly that opposition is what brought us here to the 5th ward council seat—and we can’t stop now. Major decisions have been presented to the public before they are approved so that you can know exactly how your council will vote—and it’s always been with you in mind. We’ve measured out the pros and cons, together. We’ve secured the jobs and revenue our city so desperately needed and we will continue to build on that with guarantees for responsible spending (spending that makes money on return) and always hiring locally first. No more outsourcing of our jobs to other counties! Together we are creating the opportunity to live, work, and retire right here in San Bernardino! 

 Since being elected I’ve informed you of all major developments being proposed for the city so that we could decide together if we want to pursue them, and it’s been incredible; we have a Chick-Fil-A, Panera Bread, Dutch Bros. Coffee, Sprouts, and more coming because you asked for it! We need more career jobs in our community and that’s why we’ve championed hiring more city staff from right here in San Bernardino, and we will continue to do all that we can to bring even more career opportunities to our residents!

 We’ve kept all developers accountable and kept a close eye to make sure we don’t get another concrete mountain dumped on us due to corruption and lack of accountability. We have a story to tell San Bernardino and I am proud to have begun telling it with you! This is our city and here in our city the people come FIRST!
